TikTok Shop's New UK Seller Tools: What Changed

Between 14 and 16 October 2026, TikTok Shop rolled out a batch of new features for UK merchants: automated ad spend, recurring subscriptions, and swipeable product carousels. If you sell, or want to sell, through TikTok from the UK, here's what each one actually means for you.

TikTok Shop quietly rolled out a cluster of new merchant tools for UK sellers this week, covering advertising, recurring purchases and how products appear in the feed. None of it requires you to touch a single line of code, which is exactly the point, but it is worth understanding what each tool does before TikTok switches it on in your account by default. (If the back end of your store, inventory syncing, order routing, payments across channels, ever starts needing more than built-in app settings can handle, that is when a proper web development team at YuSMP earns its keep. Most sellers starting out will not need that yet.)

GMV Max Net Sales Boost: Ads On Autopilot

The headline feature is an expansion of GMV Max, TikTok's automated advertising system, called Net Sales Boost. It automatically creates and optimises ad campaigns for eligible products that are not already being advertised, handling creative selection, audience targeting and bid management without you building a single campaign yourself. Eligible shops are opted in by default unless you switch it off, and the first 30 days run free of extra ad cost while the system learns your catalogue.

What This Means If You Sell From Home

  • You do not need to learn TikTok's ad manager to get your products in front of new shoppers, the system does the targeting for you.
  • Because it is opt-out rather than opt-in, check your Seller Centre settings so you are not surprised by ad spend you did not plan for once the free trial period ends.
  • Settings stay locked during the initial learning window, so this is not something you can fine-tune hour to hour, it needs a bit of patience.

Subscribe & Save: Recurring Orders Without the Admin

Subscribe & Save is now live in Seller Centre. It lets a shopper commit to automatic recurring purchases on eligible products, at a discount you set between 5% and 20%, which you can edit or pause at any time. For consumable or repeat-purchase products, skincare, candles, pet treats, printables refreshed monthly, this turns a one-off sale into a standing order without you chasing anyone down.

The appeal for a home-based seller is obvious: recurring revenue you do not have to manually rebill, and a discount lever that rewards your most loyal customers instead of discounting everyone equally through a blanket sale.

Shoppable Carousels, Group Deals and Price Cuts

TikTok also upgraded Shoppable Photo into Shoppable Carousel, letting you turn a set of two or more product images, five to seven is the sweet spot, into a swipeable shoppable post without filming a single video. For sellers who are camera-shy, or who simply do not have time to film and edit video content around school runs and nap schedules, this is a meaningful lower-effort way to stay visible in the shop feed.

Alongside it, two live-selling features arrived: Group Deal, which activates a discounted price once enough buyers commit to a shared sales target during a livestream, and Price Cut, which does something similar across a whole live session. A Second Chance feature also lets sellers re-engage the next-highest bidders in an auction after the winner does not complete checkout.

What's Still Rolling Out Gradually

A few honest caveats before you go looking for these in your own account:

  • Not every feature appears in every Seller Centre account at once, TikTok is staging the rollout across eligible sellers rather than flipping a single switch for everyone.
  • GMV Max Net Sales Boost is opt-out, so the first thing worth doing is checking your ad settings rather than assuming nothing has changed.
  • Subscribe & Save only makes sense for genuinely repeat-purchase products, it is not a fit for one-off or seasonal items.

What To Do About It Now

None of this requires an overnight overhaul. The practical move is to open Seller Centre, see which of these tools are already live on your account, and decide deliberately, rather than by default, whether automated ad spend and subscriptions make sense for what you sell. If a handful of your products are genuinely repeat purchases, Subscribe & Save is worth switching on this week.
