Goal: Put Self Care at the Top of Your Priority List
I’m going to keep it real here.
Running your own business can actually be really hard. Combine that with being a mum and life in general and our energy gets drained very quickly.
I’ve found that energy just doesn’t come (to me) magically and I need to create it. Here are five of the best ways I have found to create more energy that can easily be slotted into your daily routine.
1. Get plenty of sleep
If you are a mum I bet you are rolling around on the floor laughing at me for suggesting that. I get it. But, even though for some mums it’s near impossible, it is still so important and needs to be at the top of our priority list.
2. Exercise daily
I bet you’ve heard before how important exercise is, not just for the body, but for the mind. When I feel myself starting to lose it I get to the gym to reset my mind. Exercise was instrumental for my recovery with PND and 18 months later I am still going strong because exercise is my go-to fix when I feel overwhelmed.
When you’re exercising you’re more energetic and you have the energy to handle the problems that come your way.
3. Drink eight glasses of water a day
Sometimes I get into what I call a ‘work coma’ and forget to drink water and it makes a huge difference to how I feel.
Water is kind of like the secret sauce. It’s like the secret weapon that high-energy people employ to have the energy they have. It will make a huge difference.
4. Feed your brain
If you want more energy, you have to stimulate your brain by constantly feeding it new and stimulating content. To be honest, I don’t actually read that many books but I am always reading a business related blog or scrolling through the comments on a business Facebook group.
Here are some of my fav blogs:

amyporterfield.com
selenasoo.com
smartpassiveincome.com
collectivehub.com
5. Maintain a positive attitude
Oh, this is so important! Your attitude is more important than you think. Negative thoughts deplete your energy. Positive thoughts replenish your energy. And you know what? You can choose what you think about. You can choose your attitude.
